The CS60: For Athletes Too?
Le CS60 est-il recommandé aux athlètes ?

This time we’re catching up with developer Mitsuhisa Nishimura at CS60 HQ. We ask Mr. Nishimura, who has handled a wide array of cases, about the range of possibilities the CS60 has.

―――――――――――――――――――――――――

– Long time, no see. How have you been since you came back from Africa?

Nishimura: I’ve been busy. The biggest thing has been production of CS60s. Since we don’t have a factory and I’m just making them myself when I can take time out between work, it’s hard to keep up with orders. During the day I have treatments to do, and on weekends I do demonstrations all over the place, I basically just have to work on it gradually at night. While we can outsource making the external casings, the heart of the CS60 that goes inside it is something I have to do myself.

– It’s that complex?

Nishimura: Not really. Once you understand the structure, anybody can make one. The issue is that the method for making them is something that you wouldn’t normally think to do, so you encounter a lot of resistance among manufacturers towards making them.
No matter what we do, manufacturing takes time, so when someone new joins, we have to get them to wait about a month before we can get a device to them.

– Is that right?
Have you had any unique cases come up in your treatments lately?

Nishimura: I recently met a university long jumper who told me that their PB had stopped going up. He said he didn’t know what to do and it was causing him a lot of stress. I had him do a jump in front of me and noticed there was a bit of spring missing from his step, so I treated the area around his knee with the CS60 for 2-3 minutes. I had him do another jump and immediately he just set off!
“I’m getting so much more hang time,” he said. It didn’t even seem like a jump that a human should be able to do.

– My word, what did you do?

Nishimura: I created some springiness, and made the contraction and extension motions in his articulatio coxae more flexible. Normally you jump by getting your rear really low and pushing from there. If the springs in your muscles are working well, when the legs extend, the time you spend in the air will be longer.

– So, it can do that sort of thing too, then?
Wouldn’t that be kind of like doping?

Nishimura: (Laughs).
I think he might be dreaming of the Olympics now.

– Well, that’s good.
So, the CS60 is for you as well, if you’re struggling to make headway in sports.

(To be continued…)
